I don’t know about you but I absolutely love finding out what other women keep in their handbag. The little life savers and tips and tricks for everyday life running around. So I am giving you a sneak peak into mine at the moment and the things I never leave the house without…
I would love to be one of those women that can leave the house in the morning and look immaculate when they return home in the evening… perfect hair perfect makeup… but I am not. I think I play with my face too much, resting my face in my hands, rubbing my eyes. Fiddling basically. Always have been a bit of a fiddler! So makeup that’s designed for on the go is a must for me. An easy compact you can grab from your handbag and retouch out and about, and I have just discovered a new gem of a compact that’s amazing. And the cherry on the top – its by one of my beauty hero brands Avon so its extremely purse friendly.
I always carry a re-usable water bottle to encourage me to drink more water. Finding myself to be awful at getting enough but where its so heavy to carry around it forces me to drink it.
Notepad and pen
I started keeping a notepad and pen in my bag back in January and its made a huge difference in how efficient I am. Both with work and life. From shopping lists, to when something pops in your head you need to do that night. Ideas. Birthdays. To-do lists. I used to put everything in my phone and it would get forgotten but theres something quite satisfying about picking up a little notebook and pen.
I have a beautiful Chanel wallet my husband bought for me pre-children but its huge and I have found myself using my phone to pay for so much more, and then keeping a little card holder with store cards etc. It left me with money just loose in which ever handbag I was using so this little coin purse has been so helpful.
Just the right size for the things you really need day-to-day.
I love having a little pot of mints to freshen my mouth when I need it. Or just for a little sugar hit.
No explanation needed right…
My nails are so weak at the moment I am constantly breaking them so I think this gets used at least once a week. The scissors have also come in handy a few times for random things.
For when I watch Instagram stories on the bus haha!
But back to the compact which is my new favourite – it is actually Avons best selling foundation but its now been made in this amazing matte finish. It does three jobs in one… concealer, foundation and a powder. And you choose how much coverage you want by building it up so you only need the one compact. A little on less makeup days and build it up for evenings or days you want a bit more coverage. Avon told me that 9 out of 10 women said they’d recommend it to a friend, quite impressive. There are 20 shades and ‘natural beige’ is just perfect on my skin.
