The humble tracksuit top ‘Hoodie’ is enjoying a street-style moment right now and if its comfortable and easy to wear I am jumping on that bandwagon. Having recently got my hands on a gorgeous oversized grey-marl version from Next I’ve been throwing it on under my leopard print coat, leather biker and over smarter looks to give a casual edge. The key to not looking too ‘down and out’ is the magic of opposites. Think tailored pieces like a structured blazer or trousers, or super smart like stilettos or a red lip – and then add your hoodie. When I pair mine with my track-pants I’ll always add a structured jacket like a full length tailored coat or blazer. Too much ‘slouch’ doesn’t work… all about balance. These ladies have it nailed – look to the way they have matched opposite pieces together like a beautiful handbag, a silk jacket, luxurious fur coat or smart Gucci loafers.
