I think I am a blazer addict – I have too many – well you can never have too many but I have a lot. There’s something so effortlessly cool about a blazer – that perfect mix of smart and casual, a piece of clothing that for so many resembles ‘work’ and ‘office’ yet instantly gives a cool-girl edge to jeans and a t-shirt. And its the perfect piece to see you through the seasons – cotton, wool… polyester… choose your material for the weather, or layer under a winter coat so you can just see the collar popping through. I love wearing a blazer with trainers in the day and then completely dressing it up with heels for the evening. And the key style for me – whether you opt for herringbone, checked, pinstripe, double breasted or even velvet – the key for me is always oversized. And I am not saying this just because oversized means I can wrap up my growing bump – although its perfect for that too. But oversized is what gives it that cool-girl edge. Less prim and proper – more ‘I’ve thrown on my gorgeous boyfriends blazer and I am rocking it’.
