Now we are mothers are we still sexy? Our bodies may have changed but we are still the same person, we have just created small humans. We still like the same things, still have feelings, desires… we still want to be desired and feel attractive. When so many people are so quick to judge, where do you feel comfortable drawing the line?
The hours you used to have to preen and pamper, most likely gone in a whirlwind of mothering. The money you used to have spare for the luxurious beauty treatments, spent on another pair of new shoes for those tiny feet. The dressing table that displayed all your lotions and potions and made you feel all old-world glam, stored away out of the reach of tiny hands.
Chatting away with my girlfriends we all want the same thing, yet there is a strange sense of uncomfortable as we discuss ‘sexy mums’. As if once you become a mother you should at all times be wholesome. If not you become a cliche ‘desperate housewife’ or a hollywood labelled ‘MILF’ with all the easy connotations that come with it. When so many other idealistic notions of motherhood have been quashed why does the idea of a mum being overtly sexually attractive still get peoples backs up.
Breast pumps, leaking boobs, pads here there and everywhere, they certainly take their toll but when it passes then comes the time you are ready to be you again…. so this week I am focusing my positive vibes Sunday inspo on red hot mamas… the confident mums that wear what they want regardless, the mums that do what makes them feel good, what makes them feel attractive, feel happy and most of all live happy. Enjoy your body, express yourself and feel confident in your choices.
Have a sexy week x
