I started aMothersEdit.com after becoming a mum and finding myself slowly falling down a milk stained, tracksuit bottomed, elastic waistband, unhappy hole. I wanted to find a bit of the old me, and by documenting my outfits I forced myself to make an effort again. To take some pride in my appearance. That made me happy, and boy did I need it. It’s tough being a new mum, I’ve only had one baby so can only draw from my personal experience, but wow, your life is turned upside down!
But as more of you read my blog I couldn’t be happier to share my journey with you. It means so much to me to read the supportive messages each day, and hear about how I have inspired you. I am truly humbled to think I could help anyone with the same journey I have been on, and am still going through as my life changes and I embrace my new role as a mother.
So this Sunday I wanted to concentrate my inspiration post on keeping it basic. You don’t need to spend money on buying new clothes, chances are you have everything you need hanging right there in your own wardrobe. You just need the confidence to play around with things, mix and match, and step out feeling good in yourself. As my girlfriend and I were discussing the other day, your children might be your number one priority now but ‘you should always put your oxygen mask on first‘. The better you are… the better they are… So here is a healthy dollop of inspo to take you back to basic.
Thank you for reading…
