It’s June and the sun is showing brief appearances – sure signs Summer is on its way and its time to get the little dresses out of storage. I have done the wardrobe swap over now, jumpers, knits and winter coats have been (not so neatly) packed away under the bed and the Summer pieces I love to wear every year are now hanging inline awaiting the sunshine.
I always love doing this in Spring, you can get an idea of any gaping holes in your wardrobe and make a mental note of anything you’re on the look out for before hitting the shops. For me I knew I needed a new frock, something a little longer in length than most of my dresses from past years but still youthful, so I can at least pretend I’m still young and carefree. And this little Topshop number filled the gap perfectly. It’s £42 so not the cheapest for whats essentially a thin cotton dress, it looks a lot like the original Kate Moss collection poppy dress so I am sure they knew it would sell well. Expect to see me in this a lot this Summer.
Looks like they only have the blue version online at the moment but I have seen it in a few stores – its called a floral tea dress.
These Warehouse mules caught my eye as I love how easy they are to put on – sounds silly but its so helpful with a tearaway toddler. Unfortunately they’re uncomfortable around my toes so I am sending them back but I wanted to share as on a more narrow foot I think they’d be perfect.
Adding to my collection of stripes I picked up these two Summer pieces from H&M, a dress and a body-suit. The dress is so easy to throw on without a seconds thought and the body-suit I am saving for a hot day with denim cut-offs – Dirty Dancing style.
They don’t have the striped version on line but this is similar and gorgeous…
And lastly thank you so much for all the birthday wishes for Vivienne, she had the best day and the party was perfect. For those asking I have put a link to the dress I was wearing just below… and use this code to get 30% off one item or 40% off more than one item, it finishes very soon though so be quick…

I have also been buying lots of peonies… Surely you can never have enough peonies!
