There’s nothing like a super short working week post holiday to really get you in the mood for a long bank holiday weekend. And with the sun shining its looking to be a good one!
Friday confession time and having been on holiday my spending has (rightfully) been curtailed. I did manage to stumble across a Stradivarius on holiday which was a lovely air conditioned break from the heat and bought a little scarf I am yet to wear but will share below. Then I also fell in love with some Chloe-esque sandals I had seen on numerous Instagram babes and had to make a sneaky online holiday shop. Needless to say when my neighbour handed me the box before we had even stepped into the porch on getting home I was well and truly busted! Whoops!
I wanted to also share an update I have given an old Topshop skirt I had been wearing before during and after holiday. It’s given it a new lease of life for me and also some added length which certainly helps when you’re running around after a crazy toddler!
The DIY skirt update
I have always loved customising my clothes, from a bad experience back in school with denim and a bottle of bleach (I thought I looked great at the time!) to taking down a hem on denim jeans or a skirt. Certainly the look of the moment with denim and it is easy to do whilst breathing new life into old denim. Just un-pick a few seams from the inside and then a quick pull and they’ll all come loose. I washed the skirt and then ironed it so it lay flat.
Here is the original Topshop skirt
And these would look amazing with the hem down…
The Mango sandals
Slightly controversial as I know not everyone likes designer copies but when the shoe is this pretty it’d be rude not to honour your bank balance and treat yourself to the cheapy version. The below images are both Chloe and the Mango sandal is underneath. They are super comfortable and although I have only worn them in the day they’d be a great leg-lengthening evening or wedding shoe. The heel’s not too high and the block-heel design is perfect for mums running around.
Or buy the real deal here from Chloe
The Stradivarius scarf
They don’t have the design I bought online at the moment but scrolling through the scarfs here there are so many they didn’t have in store – gorgeous designs and at great prices. Could make the perfect Summer-scarf.
And lastly…
Quick update skincare wise for those that said they were interested following my last post. The Peter Thomas Roth face wash was going so well, not a pimple in sight. Until the holiday! To be fair it could have been the thick sun cream or heat but I have had a few breakouts. I am not giving up on it so will give you an update again in a few weeks.
Love,
Vx
Your shoes are adorable!!
Those shoes!! Love Mango!
